Ingredients

  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 336g pack Tesco Finest 12 beef & herb meatballs
  • 15g butter
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • ½ chicken stock cube made up to 175ml
  • 100ml 50% less fat crème fraîche
  • ¼ tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ lemon, juiced
  • small handful fresh flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped
  • cranberry sauce, to serve

Method

  1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan and fry the meatballs for 10 mins, turning regularly until golden all over. Set aside.
  2. Meanwhile, melt the butter in the frying pan, then stir in the flour. Cook for 1 min before stirring in the chicken stock followed by the crème fraîche. Simmer over a very gentle heat and add the allspice, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and some seasoning to taste. Add the meatballs back to the pan, along with the parsley and simmer gently for about 5 mins. Serve in a small bowl with cranberry sauce.
