Fill an empty spice jar with recently boiled water. Swill, empty and dry well.
Grate 4 squares of plain chocolate and spoon into the jar. Layer with 2 tbsp demerara sugar, then 3 tbsp good quality cocoa powder.
Place three 12g candy canes in a sandwich bag and crush with a rolling pin to a coarse powder. Spoon 2 tbsp of the crushed candy on top of the cocoa.
Top with the mini marshmallows and close the lid. Prepare the decorative ribbons and tag stating the instructions for making, which are:
"Pour into a heavy-based pan with 600ml milk and bring to the boil, stirring continually. Pour into two mugs and enjoy the best hot chocolate ever!"
Decorate your jars with the prepared ribbon and tag, and share with friends and family!
