We've been inspired by Italian maritozzi (cream buns) and created a super-speedy, no-bake version with brioche rolls. Ready in just 10 minutes, tiramisu fans will love this sweet treat. See method

Ingredients

  • 6-pack Tesco Finest mini brioche rolls
  • 100ml whipping cream
  • 85g mascarpone
  • 50g icing sugar
  • ¾ tsp instant coffee mixed with 1 tbsp boiling water, cooled
  • cocoa powder, for dusting

Method

  1. Use a serrated knife to split the buns vertically down the centre, making sure not to go all the way through. Set aside.
  2. Whip the cream to stiff peaks in a mixing bowl. Stir in the mascarpone, icing sugar and cooled coffee, then whisk until the mixture is firm enough to hold its shape.
  3. Use a teaspoon to spoon the coffee cream into the split buns, pushing it into the corners as much as possible. Use a small palette knife to scrape off any excess and neaten the top, then wipe off any cream on the bun tops.
  4. Use a sheet of kitchen paper to half-cover one of the buns, using the natural curl of the paper to hold it in place. Dust the bun with cocoa powder, mini brioche rolls then transfer to a serving board and repeat with the remaining buns.

Tip: Make the coffee filling a day ahead and keep chilled. Fill the buns just before eating; they will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 days.
